Sweet v. HMK Government Data Breach Class Action

TBD (Expected to open summer 2026 and close six months later) A settlement was reached resolving a class action lawsuit alleging the Government of Canada was negligent in safeguarding personal and financial data during credential stuffing attacks. The hackers fraudulently accessed CRA and Service Canada accounts to apply for CERB and other benefits.
